As the generation born with the technology spoon, you may find some of the following ‘technology’ a little outdated. You may also wonder why your parents continue to use these!
1. The Remote Control
You may use these to hit your sibling with but these were actually used to change channels on a TV once upon a time.
2. Vacuum Cleaners
When you can have a robot that will do the house cleaning for you, why are we still using a vacuum cleaner to do the job?
3. Credit cards
With net-banking, all sorts of wallets and udhaar, credit card what?
PS: it’s possible you are not eligible for a credit card since you don’t have a steady income!
Ever wondered how you are able to get that life-saving WiFi? Follow that connection sometime and you will come into contact with this box that’s called a modem.
5. Digital Cameras
Sometime in the past, this used to be a point of showing off to his colleagues, now dad’s digital camera is languishing in some drawer, covering dust, removed only on special occasions to click ‘high-res’ photos.
You know the thing that is attached to a wall and when it rings, everyone looks at each other thinking who is going to get up to answer the phone? Yeah they are called landlines.
7. Passwords and logins
Why your dad has the same password for all his bank accounts:
Those round disks that play music if you can find the player for those round disks. Of course when you show your dad an app that will play his favourite music without the CD, he finds he prefers to go old-school.
With online streaming apps storing your movies and series and cloud storing your important documents, why do they still insist on using pendrives and external harddrives to store anything.
10. Pen and paper
Your dad owns the best of the smartphones but when it comes to making lists or to-dos, he still uses a pen and paper.
So what are some of the tech that your dad uses and you have no explanation for it except he is ‘used’ to it?
