A country truly becomes intolerant when regional political groups protest and threaten to take actions against a filmmaker and his actors. Welcome to the 21st century India! where there are country wide protests going on for the film, Padmaavat (yes! That is what they are calling it now!) and 4 states, namely Gujarat, Haryana, MP and Rajasthan ministers decided to put a ban on the film as they “THINK” it’s a derogatory take on the legend of Rani Padmavati.
The Supreme Court FINALLY realized that its an infringement of the right to speech and decided to reject their plea to put a ban on the film and asked states to have tight security on the day of release.
Where a part of India is filled with Intolerant Old Farts! There is a whole part which is freaking hilarious and feels that these people need to calm down and let the CBFC decide which film should get clearance or not.
Indian Twitter users found the humour in the whole Padmavati/Padmaavat banter and shared their thoughts with the world!

Rajasthan Govt still doesn't want Padmavat released. Bhansali should change the name to Padman and tell them it's a 'period' drama

#RaniPadmavati was not a real person. She was a fictional character. She never existed in history. She originated in a poem called Padmavat
So everyone just chill, eat popcorn, watch the movie, fantasize over Deepika or Ranveer and raat ko chup chaap hillaakey so jaao
