Vinta Nanda, the writer and producer of famous 90’s Indian serial Tara has accused Bollywood actor Alok Nath of having raped her 19 years ago.
Here’s the Facebook post via which she shared her experience
Vinta also recalls an incident from the sets of Tara where Alok Nath was fully drunken and tried to take advantage of his co-actress Navneet Nishad who then slapped him in return.
Vinta Nanda says it’s the #MeToo movement that has given her the courage to speak out. She narrated the incident that happened about two decades ago through a heart-wrenching facebook post. Many celebrities including the likes of Swara Bhaskar, Richa Chadda have voiced their backings for Vinta.
Here’s what Alok Nath says about the incident.
In the current situation, if a woman accuses a man, no one will consider listening to a man’s version so it’s useless to react. I have known her. I would not like to comment on it. She has the right to put forward her thoughts. Right now, I am trying to come to terms with the whole thing. Will comment later.
The actor also said he is not affected by what people will say after being accused of a sexual violation. He even added that he was responsible for the writer-producer, Vinta Nanda’s success.
