May it be the cricketing performances, achieving milestones in cricket, or the most recent the Virushka marriage the Indian captain Virat Kohli cannot stay off the news for long. He is once again in the news as he becomes the most expensive player to be retained in IPL 2018 by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Bangalore franchise decided to keep a hold on their and Indian captain Virat Kohli at any cost. The IPL franchise RCB forked Rs 17 crore to retain the frontman, Virat Kohli.
With a base price of Rs 15 crore, this new amount of Rs 17 crore made captain Kohli is the highest paid player in the history of IPL even more then what Delhi Daredevils paid for Yuvraj Singh in IPL 2015. Virat Kohli is the first retained player for RCB in this year’s IPL with an auction price of Rs 15 crore. However, Bangalore IPL franchise have shelled out two more crores making him the most valued player in the history of 11-year-old IPL tournament.
Royal Challengers definitely do not feel that they have spent more to retain their captain as Kohli was in a great form in 2017, scoring 2818 runs in all formats for India before leaving to Italy with Anushka for their marriage. Virat Kohli is playing for the Royal Challengers since the inception delivering his best by hitting 4418 runs from 149 matches with an average of 37.44. His best IPL season was 2016 where he not only smashed 973 runs with an average of 81.08 but also become the fastest player to reach 4000 runs in IPL history. He scored four centuries that year.
Former captain of India and CSK, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was also retained by the returning Chennai Super Kings and Rohit Sharma by Mumbai Indians for Rs. 15 crores each which makes them second highest paid players of IPL 2018. What a great start to the year 2018 it is for Virat Kohli after tying the knot last year. Virat is currently on the South Africa tour which a starter after his marriage and upcoming IPL tournament.

Lot of reports, comments and discussions on Kohli demanding more than 15C. But what if it's a case of Boss giving a surprise pay hike knowing he is the Best in business now and based on last year performance ?!. #RCB #Virat https://t.co/Suc2iqI7Jg
