Swedish electronic DJ, producer, Tim Bergling, aka AVICII, has passed away at the age of 28. The musician was found dead in Muscat, Oman, on Friday afternoon. The EDM star announced his retirement from music touring in 2016 by posting a letter on his official website that stated that he needed to “make the change that I’d been struggling with for a while.”
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” reads a statement from his representatives. The statement did not give any clear cause of untimely death of the DJ.
The 28-year-old DJ died a true legend. And there’s good chance that within his 28 years in this world, you were inspired or impacted by his amazing music in some way. The DJ will be remembered through his many greatest hits, for giving the way for other music producers and DJs, and for staying true to his work.
“We All Reach A Point In Our Lives And Careers Where We Understand What Matters The Most To Us”, Avicii shared on his website in the year 2017. “For me, it’s creating music. That is what I live for, what I feel I was born to do,” he added.
Although the DJ announced retirement from touring, Avicii continued to make music and he did up until his death.
