Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 has smashed all the records in terms of opening three days’ collection. The game has collected $725 million worldwide via retail consumer sales during its first three days.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now behind GTA V, which is also a Rocksteady Games’ production, in terms of the most profitable entertainment product launch. The launch of the game has skyrocketed the parent company— Take-Two Interactive’s shares by 11 percent.
As per the sources, Red Dead Redemption 2’s numbers have even outdone, Marvel’s all-time highest grossing movie, Avengers: Infinity War’s opening days’ collection. Infinity War had collected more than $640 million in its first weekend on the big screen.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a Western-themed action-adventure game set in an open world environment. It can be played from either a third or first-person perspective and the player controls the protagonist Arthur Morgan, an outlaw and a member of the Van der Linde gang. The game features both single-player and online multiplayer components.
The game is highly appreciated for its storyline, attention to details and gameplay.
