On her 25th birthday, Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar shared the gist of her look in the upcoming movie Raazi. With that she did promise us to get back with the trailer within a month. With just 2 days to go, on 8th April, Alia shared a sneak peak of the movie. Watch the clip:
Disclaimer: Put the volume on loud!
Seen wearing a burkha and talking extremely softly over a call, (we had to literally plug the headphones in our ears to understand the conversation) as it seems, she is having a conversation about meeting someone and asking if everything is fine on the other end.
She also treated her fans with the 3 posters of the movie via her Instagram yesterday, where she depicts the main protagonist (herself) is a daughter, a wife and a spy.
The plot of the movie is based on the book by Harinder S. Sikka known as Calling Sehmat which was released in 2008. The story revolves around a girl called Sehmat, a Kashmiri girl who gets married to a Pakistani man so that she can pass on the information to the Indian Army during the Indo-Pak war 1971.
The trailer is definitely awe inspiring, gripping and has made our wait for this movie unbearable. Shot in Kashmir, the movie tries to recreate the original set up of the situation in India during the 1971 war. The details so far depict the rawness and different facets of Alia’s character. There is no doubt she will do justice to this role as she comes of as a loving daughter, a beautiful wife and a fearless spy, ready to take such extreme risk for her nation. There is nothing above the love for the country. Alia is seen taking crazy risks to pass on the important information to the Indian Intelligence Officers and try to save lives of hundreds of Indians.
With great actors like Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Soni Razdan, Rajit Kapur and Jaideep Ahlawat, we can know for sure that this one is going to be a game changer. Directed by Meghna Gulzar and with such talented star cast, we hope Raazi fairs at our expectations. The movie is set to release on 11th May 2018.
