15th November 2017 was as normal a day for every Muggle as for anybody else, thank you very much! But then, this happened.

Well, there was a bit of excitement in the Potterverse and that’s about it.
The next day, too, everybody went about their days but with a little hope in their hearts that today, something else was to be revealed about the movie that was set for release, exactly a year later. The Twitter notifications started pouring in and oh, my! This is what the world was greeted with.

Everyone rushed to Pottermore for more scoop on the movie and wasn’t disappointed at all.
For someone like you who is new to the Potterverse and is not sure what we’ve been going on about, let us give you some background.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was a book that was a part of the Harry Potter’s academic syllabus. J K Rowling, the writer of the series, had herself written and printed real books with the same name to give her fans something fun to read after they were done with the series; as Hermione would put it – for ‘light reading’.
After the movies were over and Voldemort was dead, the Potterverse almost went dead into depression.
One fine day, they were all resurrected by the news that J K Rowling was to make the Fantastic Beasts into a movie series! Last year, the Potterverse was back in theatres with their tub of popcorn, watching Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the very first movie in the promised series of five.
Newt Scamander, the supposed author of the Fantastic Beasts original book, was introduced along with varied other characters including Gellert Grindelwald, Dumbledore’s archenemy and the original possessor of the Elder wand, the wand of Death, before Dumbledore defeated him in a duel.
This poster of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald looks promising as we see the return of existing characters like Newt himself, Porpentina “Tina” Goldstein – the Auror at MACUSA, the charming muggle-wizard couple Jacob Kowalski and Queenie Goldstein, Credence Barebone – the Obscurial, and, of course Grindelwald (yes, we got a glimpse of him in the previous movie)
The new characters are Maledictus – we hear she’s the carrier of a blood curse that destines her to ultimately transform into a beast, Leta Lestrange – she appeared as Newt’s seeming love interest in the previous movie but somehow seems to be related to Bellatrix Lestrange (or her husband, rather). However, she is seen being seated with Theseus Scamander, Newt’s own brother (no clue what’s going on there)! Last but not the least, we have Dumbledore appearing in a rather younger version of himself, played by none other than Jude Law and he looks perfect. If you notice, the arch-enemies are placed at either ends of the poster and Gridelwald is seen holding the Elder Wand (well, well!).
Since the movie’s title suggests it’s going to be more about Grindlewald, we’re expecting more action between him and our beloved Dumbledore. However, we do not expect the famous duel to happen anytime soon, as Pottermore states that the movie is set in 1927 and as we know, the duel happened in about 1945.
Well, all we have to do is wait and watch. The release date is set at 16th November 2018. Something to keep us going for another year!
