Mujhe Bombay Shaant Chahiye.
-Iss Waqt Bombay Ko Sirf EK Hi Aadmi Shaant Kar Sakta Hai..Balasaheb Thackeray!
This is how the much-awaited trailer of the movie Thackeray begins. The movie is inspired by the life story of Shiv Sena Supremo Bala Saheb Thackeray. The Tiger is known for his social works and his support for the Maharashtrians.
Bal Thackeray, despite having held no official position in the party, was massively influential. He had a lot of followers inside and outside the political image. It seems, there couldn’t have been a perfect actor than Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who could’ve portrayed the Tiger so well. The trailer takes us through his life from being just a common man to a widely regarded political leader.
Nawaz looks to have successfully emulated Saaheb’s mannerism, body language and of course, the sarcasm too. A notable part also reveals his involvement in the 1992 Hindu-Muslim riot. The movie is produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and is directed by Abhijit Panse. The film also features Amrita Rao in a leading role.
However, a point that grabbed our attention is a slight yet a major difference between the Hindi and Marathi trailer. In the Marathi version, Nawazuddin’s voice is dubbed by, Sachin Khedekar, who lacks the power and aggression in his voice. To add, the Hindi trailer features more about the powerful personality of Bal Thackeray whereas, in Marathi, it shows more about his obnoxious approach towards the migrants in Mumbai, especially the South Indians.
The movie is dated to be released on 25th January 2019.
