Over the weekend India celebrated it’s 70th Republic Day and showed the world that things are finally evolving. They didn’t just put up a perfect show to celebrate the constitution of India but gave out a strong message that women have finally arrived and how! This year’s parade saw a lot of firsts, an all-women rifles contingent being led by a woman officer, another one who performed stunts and finally, a lady officer who led an all-men contingent.
It has taken the country a while to understand what equality is all about and how the female army personnels deserve their due credit for all the amazing work they have done till now. We watched Major Khushboo Kanwar lead the Assam all women rifles contingent which made us beam with pride. Captain Shikha Surabi is a daredevil who did stunts on a moving two-wheeler which had all the viewers in awe.
But it was Lieutenant Bhavana Kasturi who stole the show. She became the first female army officer to lead an all-male contingent. The Contingent consisted of 144 jawans who were proudly led by Lieutenant Kasturi. Well! take this for an answer, General Bipin Rawat. Nari Shakti is the new motto for the Indian Army and we couldn’t be more proud of these ladies who are killing it at what they do!
These amazing ladies are the flagbearers of the change that is finally taking place in the country! Jai Hind!
