Just to Introduce him,
Punisher is the recipient of multi-disciplinary military training from the U.S. Marine Corps. While a Marine, he also received training from the U.S. Army and Navy. From this training, Punisher is proficient in not only basic infantry skills, but in special operations, which includes the use and maintenance of specialized firearms and explosive ordnance. He is highly trained in infiltration into heavily-guarded enemy territories and structures for the purpose of assassination, capture and military intelligence. Additionally, he is a kickass marksman. He is thoroughly trained and experienced in unconventional (“guerilla”) warfare. He is an armorer, a gunsmith, and an expert in the field of medicine.
There are several crucial aspects of Frank Castle’s past in comics that directly lead to him becoming The Punisher. But the origin story they have taken for is the death of his children and wife at the hands of the Costa mob family which was also a covert operation by CIA.
During this story we see into the psyche of The Punisher like never before. Frank’s instability and reaction to the death of his family is not only tragic but telling. It’s in these pages that we see the birth of the persona of The Punisher. Frank is suicidal at first, while trying to resolve the crime through lawful avenues. However, the Costa family is well-connected and they cannot easily be pursued in court. Once the establishment that he fought so hard to protect in Vietnam fails him, Frank takes justice, vengeance, and punishment into his own hands.
ITS ALWAYS PERSONAL FOR FRANK CASTLE AKA PUNISHER
For a man who served in the military and sacrificed so much for his country, it may seem odd that he became a murderous vigilante. Despite his skills and background in the military, Frank was always a family man first. However, once they were taken away from him, he could not cope with the loss and failure of the system.
Once coming up with the idea of “The Punisher,” Frank promised to always fight against crime and injustice. What set him apart from other heroes and even villains was not just his penchant for murder, but how personal he took each encounter. This is because when his family died, Frank could not forgive those who had harmed him so badly. This inability to forgive and motivation to hand out justice on his own terms is what directly led to his crusade to punish.
He cannot forgive any criminals for the aggressions they commit against the innocent and therefore treats all crimes and encounters like the first he had with the Costa family.
You know the actor playing Punisher, John Bernthal from movies like “The Accountant” and the TV series “The Walking Dead”
