An actor, singer, director, writer, producer, host and what not. This guy is an epitome of versatility. Born to one of the legendary writer Javed Akhtar and Actress Honey Irani, this one has come a long way.

Farhan Akhtar worked as an assistant in movies like Lamhe and Himalay Putra. No one expected this man to turn around things so quickly and give us new age of cinema. Starting his own production house Excel Entertainment, marked his journey as a showman. With movies like Dil Chahta hai and Lakshya, the millennial got new hope for life and entertainment.

Turning 43 years today, let us look at some of his achievements and performances from his splendid journey in Bollywood!

1.Dil Chahta Hai

The movie starring Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna, DCH brought life into youth cinema. Giving us all friendship goals and hope for love because its never too late in life, this one was a game changer. As a directorial debut, it did bring Farhan into the most versatile director categories of all time.

2. Lakshya

Starring Hrithik Roshan this one also subtly touched the young nerves of responsibility, ambition and patriotism. Reflecting on what we are actually missing out on life and ignoring the larger picture, this was truly a remarkable movie.

3. Don

With the remake of classic starring SRK in leading role, this one took us back to old times. Not of course comparing to Sr. Bachan and his performance, it definitely gave a new angle and cinematography to the old script.

4. Rock On

This one marked Farhan’s journey as an actor and singer. A story based on 4 BFF’s who created their own band and brought in rock music into our lives. Brilliant acting performance by all stars and music by Shankar Ehsaan & Loy, we still groove on Sinbad the Sailor and drool over Yeh Tumhari Meri Baatein.

5. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Starring Himself, Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol is a modern version of DCH but with more reality take. Story of 3 friends fighting their own demons go on a bachelor journey to Spain and realize the true meaning behind the thing we called Life.

6. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

A biography on the flying sikh, Milkha Singh, Farhan starred in the titular role showcasing the journey of this sports person and his achievements. To do justice to his role, Farhan went through extensive physical training to achieve the correct look and the character in the movie. It did inspire lot of youngsters and brought in new light to the field of sports in India.

7. Wazir

Starring himself and Sr. Bachan, a crime thriller drama, the story revolves around a suspended Anti Terrorism Squad officer who becomes friend with a wheelchair bound chess player. Though the movie didn’t fare very well at box office, the performances of the actors was highly appreciated.
