Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr. is a former American boxer and professional boxing promoter who was born Floyd Joy Sinclair on February 24, 1977, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mayweather had a 20-year long boxing career from 1996 to 2007 and 2009 to 2015 and made a one-fight comeback in 2017. He is one of the most successful boxers in the history of the sport as he enjoyed a perfect win record in his 49 fights. He remained undefeated for his entire career and is also one of the top-paid athletes in history.
During his boxing career, he held multiple world titles in five weight classes and the lineal championship in four weights classes and retired with an undefeated record of 50–0, surpassing Rocky Marciano’s record of 49–0. He calls himself “Money” as he is one of the richest athletes in the world.

Floyd Mayweather is one of the highest paid athletes in the world, he grew up poor and did not always had the luxuries. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan into a family of boxers. His father, Floyd Mayweather Sr. was a former boxer and uncles Roger and Jeff Mayweather were professional boxers. His father and uncles trained Mayweather and for a good period, his father was his trainer-manager. Mayweather’s parents struggled with drug abuse.
His father used to sell drugs which gave Mayweather a rough childhood. He mostly lived with his mother and boxing has been a part of Mayweather’s life.
