Today, we have a special fitness celebrity who has stunned the world with her achievement in the world of bodybuilding. Meet Bhumika Sharma the first Indian woman to win Miss World Bodybuilding Championship in Venice, Italy in 2017. She sets a perfect example for other women bodybuilders to work hard towards their fitness goals.

Bhumika was among the 50 women who took part in the competition from around the world. The Indian squad had 27 women who took part in the championship. Her dedication and hard work made India proud of having the first woman in the world to achieve such a unique honor.

The 22-year-old bodybuilder is from Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She now lives in Delhi and is the only woman so far from her state to have made her mark in bodybuilding, both at the national and international levels.

Bhumika belongs to a sporting family as her mother Hansa Manral Sharma is the head coach of the Indian women’s weightlifting team. This did not make it easy to convince her parents to take up bodybuilding as a career. Her early interest was in shooting and that was what her parents wanted her to pursue. The turning point of her life was when she met a bodybuilding coach in an event in Delhi which took her to bodybuilding profession.

But like every other woman who is into fitness and bodybuilding, it takes a lot to maintain the perfect body and Bhumika was no exception. The right combination of workout and a perfect diet plan is the secret to her success. Let us look at her diet plan which makes her the champion on stage.

Bhumika believes in maintaining a right balance between her workout and diet. Her meals are divided into 6-7 small meals for a day.

Meal-1 is the pre-breakfast meal in which she focuses on fast acting proteins and high GI fruits.

  1. A medium or large size fruit such as banana
  2. Whey protein shake

Meal-2 is the breakfast where she takes protein, low carbs, and healthy fats.

  1. Oatmeal
  2. Eggs
  3. Milk and nuts

Meal-3 is the Pre-lunch meal which has protein, slow acting carbs, and veggies.

  1. Chicken
  2. Broccoli
  3. Mixed veggies

Meal-4 is the Lunch in which she again includes protein, slow acting carbs, and veggies.

  1. Fish
  2. Chicken
  3. Brown rice
  4. Veggies

Meal-5 is the Pre-work or Post-lunch meal which gives her the protein and low GI carbs.

  1. Sweet potatoes
  2. Low GI carbs shake

Meal-6 is the post-workout or Pre-dinner meal with fast-acting protein and carbs.

  1. Whey protein shake
  2. Carbs

Meal-7 is dinner and is the concluding meal of the day with protein, fiber, and low carbs.

  1. Chicken
  2. Salad using Flax oil
  3. Broccoli

The best moment of her life was when the Indian flag was hoisted, and the final winner was announced at the Championship.
