Each year, hundreds of new anime series are released across different platforms and networks. It turns out really difficult to watch all of them and in the midst of following the latest ones we do miss out on some of the most epic animes. Here, I have compiled a list of my favourite anime series, let’s go!

5. My Hero Academy

My Hero Academy - Dopewope
The storyline follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without quirks or any sort of superpowers in a world where they are the norm. Despite the fact, he still dreams of becoming a hero himself. On his mission to be the number one hero, he is scouted by the world’s greatest hero, who shares his quirk with Izuku after recognizing his value and potential and later enrolls him in a high school for heroes in training to achieve his dreams. My Hero Academy definitely deserves a spot in the top 5 anime series.

4. Attack On Titan

Attack On Titan - Dopewope
It has been ranked as the best action anime according to Ranker and number 4 on our list. Attack on Titan has been termed as a truly ground-breaking anime. After the destruction of Eren’s hometown and his mother eaten by a titan right in front of his eyes, young Eren Jaegar vows to cleanse the planet of the giant humanoid Titans that have brought humanity nearly to the brink of extinction. The plot, the vision, and the atmosphere have been truly fantastic on all the levels. The basic premise of mindless giants eating people might sound silly, but watching it leaves you with a much different feeling with the special operations squad swinging around with blades and never seen before gears.

3. Naruto

Naruto - Dopewope
This is an absolutely beautiful story about an adolescent ninja brat, Naruto Uzumaki, searching for recognition from his peers and his journey to becoming the village Hokage. Moments prior to Naruto’s birth, a huge demon known as the Kyuubi, the Nine-Tailed Fox, attacked the Hidden Leaf Village and wreaked havoc. In order to put an end to the rampage, the leader of the village, the Fourth Hokage, sacrificed his life and sealed the monster inside the newborn Naruto. Shunned because of the Kyuubi inside him, Naruto struggles to find his place in the village, while his burning desire to become the Hokage leads him not only to some great new friends but also some deadly foes. Naruto makes it to number 3 on our list of top 5 anime series.

2. Death Note

Death Note - Dopewope
One of the darkest series ever in the anime history, Death Note has been voted as the best anime of all time in Japan. The show is centered around Light Yagami aka Kira a promising high school student and with a strong sense of “justice”. One of the things many unwavering fans find fascinating about Death Note is that the protagonist isn’t the typical good guy wearing a cape but a young genius who turns out to be a serial killer in an attempt to create and rule a utopia cleansed of criminals, with him at the pinnacle as its “God”. The fact that this series goes where few others have dared to go in terms of a moral theme is definitely one of the reasons you’ll find this series so enthralling. There can be a lot of debate as to Death Note deserving the number 1 spot but I personally feel we have a better anime that deserves the top rank!

1. Dragon Ball Z

Dragon Ball Z - Dopewope

Yes! You heard it right, it is Dragon Ball Z! No matter how much you hate it, this anime has to be the most popular in the history of animes. Not only in countries like Japan and the US, but Dragon Ball Z also has a massive fan base in many countries across the world. The show basically follows the adventures of Goku also known as Kakarot who along with his friends, defend the Earth against villains ranging from intergalactic space fighters and conquerors, unnaturally powerful androids and near indestructible magical creatures. The anime also features characters, situations, and back-stories not present in the original manga.
