Another match and another victory for the Men in Blue, making them the only team with a 100% victory in the Asia Cup so far. India defeated Pakistan by 9 wickets and the win was a sweeter one as it was against their archrivals.

Match Progression:

After winning the toss, Sarfraz Ahmed chose to bat first. Indian bowlers were at their best yet again as they bundled out the opponents for 237/7 (50.0).
For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal took two scalps each. After losing the first three wickets in quick successions, Sarfraz Ahmed (44) and Shoaib Malik (78) held Pak’s innings together.

Once again in the tournament, team India came in to bat with extreme calm and composure with two of their in-form batsmen taking guard in the middle. A massive 210-run partnership between the openers left Pakistani bowlers sweating. Both, Shikhar Dhawan (114) and Rohit Sharma (111*) bagged a century and sailed India to another comfortable victory. Dhawan earned another Man of the Match trophy and is the leading scorer (327) of the tournament so far. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is at the second place with 269 runs.

– The victory means India has secured a place in the final of the 2018 Asia Cup.
– Afghanistan has found the exit doors after losing against Bangladesh.
– India would be facing either of Pakistan or Bangladesh in the final (depends on the winner between Pak vs Ban on 26th).

While Kohli’s absence was expected to trouble India, the team is doing pretty well. Rohit Sharma is doing a great job as a captain and the top order is leaving no room for mistakes when it comes to batting.

Indians seem to be the real favourites to win the Asia Cup.
