Bollywood is synonymous not just with the dramatic movies it delivers but their melodious sound tracks that make up a movie, as well. The one name that tops the list when it comes to soul-stirring Bollywood music is A R Rahman. He has been in the industry for almost three decades and produced various genres of music for various genres of films throughout his career. He is a singer, song-writer, composer, record-producer, music-director, arranger and conductor. He stepped into Hollywood for a one-off stint and ended up making music for more than half a dozen or so movies there as well, for a few of which he won the Grammy and the Academy Awards. To honour him and his life and remarkable work, Berkelee College of Music, USA celebrated Festival of Lights in 2014.
